On October 14, 1066, the Normans, led by Duke William of Normandy, defeated the Saxon army, led by King Harold II, at the Battle of Hastings on the southeast coast of England. We went to the annual reenactment of this pivotal battle that secured the Norman’s conquest of, what had been, Saxon England.

The Norman army, which had horses. (The Saxons didn’t.)

The Saxons’ high position was no help against the calvary
Fatalities on the battlefield
The kids’ reenactment of the battle was actually far more entertaining.
I believe this is what we’d consider a “lawsuit waiting to happen” in the U.S.
